A short page, because there is not much to hide behind. We prepare two IRS forms and we try to do it well.
Practifile is a document-preparation service operated by Neuro Gnosis LLC, a company formed in the State of Delaware. The service is not a law firm, not an accountancy practice, and not a government body of any kind.
Form SS-4 and Form W-7 are written in the IRS’s language. We ask about your situation in ordinary words and fill the form from your answers.
Fields are validated as you go and the finished form is checked against the rules that most often cause rejections, because a rejection costs you the whole processing window again.
The IRS online EIN tool requires a Social Security number. A large part of who we built this for does not have one, and that route is simply closed to them.
The service runs in eight languages, because reading a US tax form in a second language is where a lot of the errors come from.
Personal data is encrypted with AES-256 at rest and in transit. We collect what the forms require and no more, we do not sell data, and we do not share it with third parties for marketing. Full detail is in the privacy policy.
Both of these forms are free to file yourself. If your case is straightforward, you have a Social Security number, and you are comfortable with IRS instructions, doing it directly at irs.gov is genuinely the better option and we would rather tell you that than take your money. What we charge for is the time, the translation, and catching the mistakes that send applications back.
